HOW WE STARTED...
D.P.Leisure was founded in 2018. Dean and Phillip were working in the leisure industry and gained many tutoring qualifications and experience whilst undertaking Duty Manager and Tutor roles within a successful organisation. They loved it that much that in 2018 they took the plunge to start D.P.L!
Dean Bolton M.I.S.P.E
Tutor/Consultant/Co-Founder
Dean has worked in the leisure industry in a management role for over 18 years gaining vast experiencing in running a successful leisure centre. Dean has been a tutor in various disciplines for over seven years, ranging from Pool Plant to Health and Safety.
Specialist areas are mainly First Aid, and pool lifeguarding, however Dean has a broadened knowledge of Health and Safety and Pool Plant Operations.
Dean’s knowledge gained within the leisure industry helps us devise various legal documentation for leisure providers, such as P.S.O.P, Risk Assessments, and Legionella control programmes to name a few.
If Dean is not teaching, he is undertaking Internal Quality Assurance visits for other tutors, or undertaking assessments as a mentor for the Royal Lifesaving Society.

Phill Weitzel M.I.S.P.E
Tutor/Consultant/Co-Founder
Phill has over 23 years of experience within the leisure industry. After 18 years of operational service at a facility with pools and dryside areas, Phill took the plunge and became a trainer. Specialising in lifeguard and First Aid courses he soon became interested in the Pool Plant Operations and Health and Safety.
Phill is a firm believer that you never stop learning and as such takes the responsibility of being a tutor very seriously. Using the analogy “that it’s not your fault that you don’t understand something, it’s just you haven’t been taught in a way that you do”
Using humour and a friendly environment, Phill believes this is the way you get the best out of your candidates. Outside of teaching Phill loves nothing more than the ocean, whether its being on it, in it, under it.

Sarah Barnes M.I.S.P.E
Projects Manager
Sarah joined the team at the end of 2018, tasked with taking on the admin and day to day running of D.P.Leisure. With years of experience working as a personal assistant in London, as well as being a qualified swimming teacher, Sarah is now D.P.Leisure’s first point of contact for any queries and requests. Sarah manages the diary, sends out quotations and invoices, and generally keeps everyone organised.
