FIRST AID

Fist Aid

Level 3 First Aid at Work

The IQL Level 3 First Aid at Work Qualification covers a wide range of CPR and first aid skills, equipping the first-aider to apply first aid to a range of specific injuries and illnesses.

This three-day course covers a range of CPR and first aid skills, providing you with the skills to ensure a safe working environment.

The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for three years, making it suitable for all industries and enabling you to meet HSE requirements.

The First Aid at Work course is 18 hours and can be delivered over three consecutive days or can be split into smaller sessions and delivered over a 10 week period from the start of the course.

The course comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, as well as a practical assessment on CPR and first aid.

Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work

The IQL Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification enables a first-aider to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill while at work.

This one-day course covers a range of CPR and first aid skills, providing you with the skills to ensure a safe working environment.

The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for three years, making it suitable for all industries and enabling you to meet HSE requirements.

The Emergency First Aid at Work course is six hours and can be delivered in one day or split into smaller sessions over a three week period from the start of the course. The course comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, including practical assessment on CPR and first aid.

The award is valid for three years as of the date of assessment.

Level 3 Paediatric First Aid at Work

The IQL Level 3 Paediatric First Aid covers a wide range of CPR and first aid skills, equipping the first-aider to administer first aid to children and infants.

This two-day course covers a range of CPR and first aid skills related to children, providing you with the skills to ensure a safe environment for children and infants.

The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for three years.

Paediatric First Aid is 12 hours and can be delivered over three consecutive days or can be split into smaller sessions and delivered over a 10 week period from the start of the course.

The course comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, as well as a practical assessment on CPR and first aid.

Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid at Work

Level 2 Automated External Defibrillator

AED is part of the guidelines for Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in the UK and Europe and a vital part of improving the chance of survival in cases of cardiac arrest, in some cases up to 75%.

IQL offer a standalone AED course and the opportunity to add AED qualification to several of our qualification courses.

The IQL Level 2 Award in Automated External Defibrillator- AED enables someone to give CPR and use an AED. The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for two years.

The Automated External Defibrillator course is four hours and is designed to be delivered in one day. The course comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, including practical assessment on CPR and AED.

Anaphylaxis Management

The regulated IQL Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis has been created with support from Anaphylaxis Campaign.

IQL offer both a standalone course and the opportunity to add Anaphylaxis Management to several of our qualification courses. The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for two years. 

The Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis course is four hours and is designed to be delivered in one day. The course comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, including practical assessment on CPR, AED and use of an adrenaline auto-injector.

Leisure

National Pool Supervisor Qualification 

The National Pool Supervisor Qualification (NPSQ) is a two-day course aimed at staff responsible for supervising lifeguards and managing essential health and safety within a leisure centre or swimming pool environment.

​

​

National Pool Lifeguard Qualification

The NPLQ covers all elements of Pool Rescue Techniques, Lifeguarding Theory, First Aid and CPR. The course is physically demanding and will include swimming to set times, lifting casualties and diving to the deepest part of the swimming pool. Training and assessment for the NPLQ is in three sections and all must be successfully passed to attain the qualification.

National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches

NRASTC is a supervision and rescue qualification for teachers working on the poolside or in the water during programmed activities, such as a swimming lesson. It is suitable for teachers working in a wide range of swimming pools where the water is deeper than the teachers’ standing depth and meets the Individual sites risk assessment.

Pool Emergency Response Programme

The RLSS Emergency Response Certificate 4th edition (Swimming Pools) is a Certificate of Water Rescue Competence for staff working in a facility where there is a swimming pool but where "continuous poolside supervision by lifeguards" is not required. In addition, the qualification will apply where pool operators wish to provide a suitable programme of training and assessment for ancillary staff who may act in support of the lifeguard team.

Level 2 Swimming Pool Water Testing

The STA Level 2 Award in Swimming Pool Water Testing is designed to provide the basic information needed and the skills necessary to competently test Swimming Pool and Spa water and to provide a basic understanding of the outcomes of those tests.

Level 2 Swimming Pool Water Treatment

The STA Level 2 Award in Swimming Pool Water Treatment is designed to enable learners to understand the basic principles of the treatment of swimming pool water.

​

​

 

Level 3 Pool Plant Operations

The STA Level 3 Award in Pool Plant Operations provides learners with the skills and knowledge to maintain and operate a pool, spa and interactive water feature plant, ensuring safe, clear and hygienic water.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Health & Safety

Level 2 Health and Safety in the workplace

The qualification provides learners with an understanding in the responsibilities of employers and employees, the benefits of good health and safety, steps to a risk assessment and how they can reduce accidents, near misses and ill-health, typical hazards and controls in a workplace, common causes of accidents, near misses and ill-health, emergency procedures and the importance of recording accidents, near misses and ill-health.

 

Level 2 Fire Marshal

This qualification is aimed at anyone involved in the management of fire safety in any workplace.  This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens (marshals) and staff working in any area where there is a potential risk of fire.

Learners gaining this qualification will know that fire safety is the responsibility of everyone in the workplace and will recognise the consequences of fire in any premises.

Level 2 Safe Moving and Manual Handling

This qualification is aimed at learners who are starting or returning to work or who need specific training in manual handling. It is also suitable for refresher training.

Level 2 COSHH Control

This qualification is aimed at individuals who work in an environment where coming into contact with hazardous substances is likely. This includes workplaces in areas such as manufacturing, cleaning, healthcare, transport, utilities and office environments.

 

Level 2 Conflict Management

This qualification is aimed at individuals who require training in conflict management. It is appropriate for a wide range of sectors and is suitable for anyone who has a customer facing role, deals with service users or the public. It can also be a useful qualification for individuals who would like a better understanding of how to prevent conflict situations from arising and feel more confident in being able to deal with situations if they arise. 

 

Level 2 Food Safety in catering

This qualification is aimed at individuals who are, or intend to be, food handlers working in catering. The objective of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment in a catering role, or to support a role in the workplace.

 

Level 2 Risk Assessment

This qualification is designed to provide learners with an awareness of the benefits of risk assessment in any environment.

 

Level 2 Legionella Awareness in hot and cold water systems.

This qualification is aimed at individuals who work in environments where legionella growth is a risk. It aims to raise awareness to prevent waterborne disease caused by legionella bacteria, specifically the risks associated with hot and cold water systems.
